Today I have the great pleasure of being the host on Day 2 of the Virtual Blog Tour of author Lynn Serafinn whose book The 7 Graces of Marketing: how to heal humanity and the planet by changing the way we sell launches on Amazon on Tuesday December 13, 2011.

Lynn Serafinn, MAED, CPCC is a certified, award-winning coach and teacher, marketer, social media expert, radio host, speaker and bestselling author. Her eclectic approach to marketing incorporates her vast professional experience in the music industry and the educational sector along with more than two decades of study and practice of the spirituality of India. In her work as a promotional manager she has produced a long list of bestselling mind-body-spirit authors. Passionate about re-establishing our connection with the Earth, she supports the work of the Transition Town network in her hometown of Bedford, England.

Yesterday, Lynn visited Linda Joy Myers at http://www.bookbuzzr.com/blog/author-interviews/lynn-serafinn-talks-about-the-7-graces-of-marketing-for-authors/, where they talked about 7 graces/sins and collaboration.

Today, I’d like to share with you a recent interview I had with Lynn when I got to ask her some questions about marketing disease, traps and the positive side.  I hope you enjoy it.

——-

Roy Martina: How does marketing relate to disease in our society today?

Lynn Serafinn: That’s a great question, Roy, and pretty much my entire book discusses this. To put it into a nutshell, it has to do with two things. First, “old school” marketing uses things like fear and manipulation of our sexual identity to created anxiety and insecurity, so as to persuade us to buy things. And the thing is, this is happening almost non-stop, as marketing is simply all around us. As a holistic medical doctor, I am quite sure that you have seen first hand how profoundly chronic stress and anxiety can impact our physical, mental and emotional health. We can see this in our modern society in the overwhelming increase in the use of anti-depressants, as well as a rise in people suffering from adrenal burnout, which is can trigger many auto-immune imbalances.

The second thing that links marketing to disease is how it persuades us to consume more than we actually need. One of the ways it does this through the practice of  “obsolescence”. When businesses and marketing try to get us to consume more than we can use, it not only puts a strain on our economy, but also on our natural world. This is a major topic in my book, and I discuss this in great detail in my chapter on the “Deadly Sin of Scarcity.”

Roy Martina: What negative traps should one look out for when it comes to marketing?

Lynn Serafinn: I’d put the “negative traps” into two categories. The first category is what I call “The Three Furies” of marketing, which are 1) fear; 2) sex and 3) humour. These Three Furies appear in marketing in so many different ways, and all of them have the impact of conditioning us to buy rather than empowering us with conscious choice. Some people might wonder why “humour” is included here as a negative trap, but really if you get right down to it, most humorous marketing creates an impact of simply building brand identity, where we lean towards a product simply as a result of liking the marketing, rather than necessarily consciously choosing the product itself.

The second “negative trap” is what I call “The 7 Deadly Sins” of marketing:

  1. Disconnection
  2. Persuasion
  3. Invasion
  4. Distraction
  5. Deception
  6. Scarcity
  7. Competition

Disconnection (from ourselves, Source, our businesses, our audience, etc.) is really the starting point for all the other “Deadly Sins.” As soon as we feel disconnected within any of our “7 Key Relationships” (another section in the book), it gives us permission to exploit and create imbalances in the world.

Roy Martina: What are the best positive marketing techniques which can change how we view marketing currently?

Lynn Serafinn: Well, I wouldn’t necessarily call them “techniques,’ I have to say that “The 7 Graces of Marketing,” for which the book is named, are the best, positive attributes of marketing we can embrace. These are:

  1. Connection (as opposed to Disconnection)
  2. Inspiration (as opposed to Persuasion)
  3. Invitation (as opposed to Invasion)
  4. Directness (as opposed to Distraction)
  5. Transparency (as opposed to Deception)
  6. Abundance (as opposed to Scarcity) and
  7. Collaboration (as opposed to Competition)

Just as Disconnection is the foundation for all the “Deadly Sins,” the Grace of Connection (to our Selves, Source, our businesses, our audience, etc), is the foundation for all the other Graces to thrive and grow.

We can no longer live in a disconnected, competitive world. Our wobbling economy is telling us this; so is our precious natural environment, which is suffering so badly from our own Disconnection from her. My hope is my book The 7 Graces of Marketing will help inspire both business owners (from sole proprietor to multinational corporations), as well as consumers, to start the wave of change back to Connection and all the other wonderful Graces that are really a part of our humanity.

Roy Martina Talks About Discovering What is the Still Point?

The Still-point is where we are in Equanimity. Equanimity is the state of love, peace, harmony and the knowing all is perfect as it is; we are resonating with our Highest Essence. Most people experience this listening to a beautiful concert, watching a nice movie, holding a new born baby in their hands, walking on a beach seeing the marvelous color play of the sunset etc. Not all people can at will be in a still point. Life takes us into its powerful multi-sensory illusion that we experience as a biochemical projection in our brains that is so addictive that we cannot take our eyes of it and stay immersed in the provoked emotional smorgasbord that we call being human. So we are constantly distracted from our Still points and fully immersed in to the material 3 Dimensional reality. The yogi’s in India are seeking enlightenment which means they are only resonating with the transcending experience of our Divine Self, It is like being God because you can only be love and you are at that point the pure expression of love.

So if we look at the human range of emotions (Emotional Scale), when we hit rock bottom we are in darkness. Which is often called depression.  We are indifferent to the world and fully immersed in our darkest nightmare that nothing matters anymore.  We don’t care if we live or die.  We don’t care about others or anything else; we are numb to the outside world and completely alone with our darkest thoughts.

Then we have anger-fear-frustration-sadness and other emotions in a degree of intensity. We can be stuck in certain emotions more than others and become an angry, fearful or shy person. Then we have the neutral point (zero point or still-point) where we are like a witness without feelings or emotions.  We are just registering or observing and have no opinions. This is the best state to take decisions and make choices because you are detached of the outcome and you have a choice how you want to feel; self-confident, happy, ecstatic or blessed. You choose and you connect with those feelings.

At the highest level there is bliss: the state where you are resonating with happiness and unconditional love.  You are in the mode to do at random acts of kindness as your preferred way of living. The way to find your starting point (still-point) is using Emotional Balance and you can read all about it in my book coincidentally called Emotional Balance.

What I am about to tell you is so important and so powerful, that I am not sure on how to tell you! What you are about to read, will not just change your life. It will put the world in complete chaos. And I am partly to blame for this…

I will start at the beginning. I have made a discovery which will change medicine, including alternative medicine. More precisely: all the work I have done over the past 35 years has become totally irrelevant. Can you imagine? Acupuncture, homeopathy, herbal medicine, Reiki, Matrix Energetics, Hypnosis, etc.: I do not use it anymore!

“Roy has introduced me to Omega Trance Healing. During this session everything I know and don’t know fell into place. A new world opened for me. There is more than what we see and know. Our ratio only has a grip on a small aspect. My body was scanned and healed and by embracing the rest I got more trust in life and therefore in myself.”

What is Emotional Imbalance? Emotions and Dis-Ease

Emotional Imbalance is when we are not connected to our true essence or higher self.  Emotional Balance is the set of skills one has to achieve the state of Equanimity (love, peace , harmony etc).

Emotional Imbalance can be divided in 3 stages:

  1. Acute Stage
  2. Processing state
  3. Resolved state or unresolved state.

In the acute stage we are in the middle of the emotions and we have to deal with them or we allow ourselves to be overcome by them. We can choose to:

  1. Deal with them right away and transform, release or express them or
  2. We can suppress them or park them for dealing with them later. Ignoring them or pretending nothing is happening is also a way of suppressing.

If we have the right techniques as taught in my book Emotional Balance we can deal with our emotions right away and accept , process and transform them. If we don’t we can suppress or park them.  Parking meets you will deal with them later for example when you are calmed down and see things better. Some people park them and never return to them. All that you suppress will have detrimental effect on your energy balance and will sooner or later become a source of dis-ease in your body or mind. So if you have a lot of suppressed aggression you become passive aggressive or sarcastic. If you have suppressed fear you become insecure in certain situations, etc. It can also affect you on a physical level as your energy system may be disturbed and affect your organs, your immune system or your endocrinal imbalance. Most chronic disease start out as an energetic or emotional imbalance. So it is best to learn how to process your unresolved emotions. Then you resolve the emotional imbalance and healing is the result. That would be the most preferred state.

Emotional Balance is Emotional Intelligence. Emotional Intelligence is the set of qualities and skills one has to achieve the following:

  1. Not to take what others say, do or don’t do personal but to realize everyone is entitled to have their opinions (false or correct) criticism, compliments, expectations and emotional reactions to what they think to observe or not to observe in you.
  2. To be able to speak your truth without the fear that you may hurt someone because they do not agree with your view of the world or how you see them. Communication is an art and speaking your truth can be intentionally or unintentionally hurtful. The goal is to be heard and that means to learn how to communicate your truth the best way to get the maximal impact and response that will invite both parties to respect each other. Impeccable speech is respectful and based on honesty and love.
  3. To be able to clearly communicate your boundaries, saying no to what you don’t want and to be clear about your motivations of your actions.
  4. To fully take responsibility for your emotions, how you feel and to know you always have a choice in how you want to feel. Your best option is to accept how you feel, understand why you feel like that and to balance the emotional disturbance. Return to a still point of neutrality so you can observe the situation without the influence of your ego and past and to make the best decision under the circumstances.
  5. To know that every person is a mirror on which you project your unresolved issues of the past, react to that projection and they do the same towards you. By knowing this you can make the situation less personal and take responsibility to heal your past, so the same person or situation no longer provoke an emotional response.
  6. To know that the purpose of life is to reach that state of Equanimity under all circumstances and that that is your only goal to make that path of learning joyful
  7. To know that all challenges are created by your own spirit to have you connect with the true power inside of you and that there is no one to blame for your experience and that in the end you can transform all experiences into powerful lessons.

We have received many questions about the Summer Camp and about what our 7th sense really is. These questions are completely understandable. Until now, there never was a possibility to follow a training related to this subject – even though it is an ancient technique!

For a long time it was ‘not done’ to occupy oneself with spirituality. This goes back to the middle-ages, when women were accused of witchcraft, and because of that ended up at the stake. The church in those times believed that normal human beings could not possibly have a connection to higher levels of consciousness. Everything that seemed incomprehensible was considered bad and stood for “the evil”. Luckily, these dark times are far behind us. Modern science for instance has changed our views on these things. Nowadays everybody has heard of quantum physics, the zero point field of healing energy. People preoccupy themselves more and more with spirituality.

Our Summer Camp and the 7th sense
During our Summer Camp I will teach you the ins and outs of the 7th sense. Based on my personal experience and research, I can tell you that there are no secret or special powers. What does exist, are the senses that we all have, which a lot of people do not optimally use.

When you have a look at the way experienced healers and mediums work, you will notice that they use their intuition and powers of healing very consciously. I use my 7th sense in my own practice when I coach people. It puts me in a position to ask the questions that I would never ask without the connection to my higher wisdom. This knowledge helps me to lift my coaching session to a higher level. Unfortunately it is not as easy for everyone to make the connection to these forces. Many people lose the connection to their higher consciousness during the course of their lives.

During the Summer Camp, we are going to restore this ability. At our birth -before we learn what it means to be a human being- we all had access to our 7th sense. This sense connects us to the quantum- field. The following things are part of the quantum- field; telepathy, far sightedness (being able to see what happens elsewhere) distance healing and also the extraordinary senses like clairvoyance, clairsentience, clairaudience and claircognizance. Think of feelings that your body cannot feel, see what your eyes cannot see, hear what your ears cannot hear, and know what your brain cannot know. You will notice: the 7th sense is so much stronger and clearer than your intuition!

“I participated to Roy Martina’s Summer Camp 2010. What a great experience! My mind and body got “trained” from early in the morning till night and at the end of the month I felt much more fit physically, emotionally and spiritually. Most of all, I learnt how to do things “ON PURPOSE”: to listen on purpose, to speak on purpose, to move on purpose …. I indeed thank all the great trainers, Roy, Iwan, Patrick and all the others :-)
- Barbara Levi-Cavaglione, Wine Export Manager

What you will learn
Before this Summer Camp is over you will have learned how:

  • You can reach a deep meditative state, from which you can connect to your higher wisdom.
  • To connect with your Higher Knowing and knowing how to use it to heal yourself and others.

During the Summer Camp you will practice a lot together with your fellow students. They will give you enough feedback so you will know that you can and may trust your 7th sense. You will:

  • Notice that your spiritual insights develop themselves: you will be able to give reliable readings to yourself and others.
  • Be able to meditate on a much deeper level than you ever thought possible.
  • Take steps within the quantum-field that will lead you to your higher wisdom.

You will be able to do all these things faster than anyone else!

Follow FIVE courses during ONE Summer Camp

  1. Deep meditation with the right half of your brain… even when you are awake.
The left half of your brain is connected to ’reason’ and the right half has a connection to your ‘Higher Powers’. Meditating with the right half of your brain will result in a much deeper meditative state. You will be able to apply the newest techniques, so that you can learn to stay connected – even when your eyes are opened! This will give you a big advantage over others in your daily life. It gives you the ability to read others from a distance, and to unveil their true intentions in only seconds.
  2. Spiritual self-healing and healing others
Now discover the secret that allows you to completely open your heart. Allow godly love and healing to enter your body to heal yourself and other people. You will learn to keep your body in a pure state: keep your body clean from negativity and break all the negative bonds with the past.
  3. Develop Intuitive; Psychological and Medium qualities
Learn how to reconnect with the powers that were yours at birth. Believe me; you will be astonished by the qualities that you already possess. Because of the way we grow up and were raised, we lose our powers. Compare it to an inner navigation system that you have never had the opportunity to use. Or see it as a mobile phone that has no signal and because of this becomes useless to you. It is time to become who you really are. You will learn how to handle a higher level of intuition…the level of intuition that I call the 7th sense.
  4. Inner Balance
Imagine that you could lead a life without fear or false beliefs and uncertainties. How would your life be if you understood – at the deepest level – why you are on this earth and what your goal is in this life? The answers to these questions shall give you peace of mind and inner harmony. You learn to get a grip on your inner balance. By mastering Inner Balance you will eliminate things that bother you in your daily life –like for example stress.
  5. Physical Fitness
Mens sana in corpore sano: a healthy mind in a healthy body. A healthy body is the basis for a good connection to your inner guidance. Because of this you will receive daily lessons from Top Trainers in yoga en aerobics. When the Summer Camp is over your body will be stronger and more energized than before.

Become a 7th Sense Life Coach in 2 intensive weeks
When complete this Summer Camp, you will receive a certificate and you are qualified as a 7th sense Life Coach. Your certificate will be signed by the three Top Trainers: Roy Martina, Samra and Isabelle von Fallois.

This is a unique event
This training -given simultaneously in this composition of three well known trainers- is a unique opportunity! I have brought these masters together so that you can learn first-hand from them. We have never before worked in a setting like this. I cannot imagine that you would want to miss out on this unique training.

This Summer Camp will stay with you for the rest of your life because:

  • You learn to trust your own intuition, psychological talents and medium qualities.
  • You will discover that you know things that you in fact cannot know.
  • You will know how to realize a lasting meditative state of calmness and clarity.
  • You will learn a new and faster way to heal your body and the bodies of others.
  • Your creativity will have increased

Your next step
Have you ever searched for the deeper meaning of life? Then this Summer Camp will be the right thing for you, because this will be the next step in your personal development. Top Trainers will pass all of their knowledge onto you in a very practical step-by-step manner so you will be able to apply it yourself.

This is your chance to learn to see through other people. Register for my Summer Camp and learn to know what other people think and feel (but what they will not tell you)!

Love, Relationships and Success – How to Have them All

In life we have people who can do several things great at the same time and others who do not do so well. In order to juggle a loving relationship and career depends on many factors. The biggest factor is the needs of the 2 individuals and what they came to learn in that relationship.

There are some basic needs that will be incompatible with what you can deliver. Let’s say that your partners definition of a loving relationship is to walk in parks with the dogs and sit in front of the fireplace sharing the stories of the day and you take your work home or are to stressed out to relax, that will not work. So all depends on the expectations and needs of yourself and your partner. Some basic needs are approval, appreciation, care, respect, trust, admiration, encouragement to name a few. Many people think that the fulfilment of their basic needs should be done by their partner.

Then the next big thing is why you are in a relationship: for love, companionship, growth, sex, attention, friendship, etc. Some partners are great; they will have their own thing and can even be of support. Other partners will whine, complain and demand attention. So it is about what you want and what kind of partner you have. What is really important to you?  Be upfront and let the person you are starting to date know that you are a workaholic; that your career is important and that you are not giving that up. That is called expectation management up front. So they know what to expect of you.

Then you have to compromise and make agreements. What is important for the other?  How do you find common ground? Now you are building a solid foundation for a loving relationship. Enjoy and good luck!

Ancestors, Karma and Cell Memory

To understand this relationship we must go to before we incarnate. If you like to believe it or not, we plot our lives to the best we can and come with a soul plan. The soul is the black box of our spirit. Like in an airplane we also have a black box a recorder of data, what is happening in our lives and which conflicts we have unresolved etc. So before we incarnate we decide what lessons we want to learn, which skills and qualities we want to develop into talents. Who our team players are and who our teachers and with whom we want to resolve some issues.

Karma is the consequences of our choices, if we were not happy with certain choices we made in the past because we were fear driven and not spirit driven (higher self) than we want to practice again to get it right this time. There is no good or bad karma, you just play the same game again over and over until you get it right. We can choose to experience certain challenges for several reasons. For example we can choose a body that will be handicapped physically or emotionally to experience certain processes to learn some things or to understand what we did to others. So we choose our bloodline for several reasons:

1. The karma of our ancestors, which unresolved issues did they pass on in this genealogy? The ancestors are always at the sideline and watching guiding you, grandmothers love that job.

2. We want a body with certain qualities and personality (temperament) that will serve our purposes.

Some of this information is passed on through the DNA and other through the crystal memory of the cells. The cells are like memory devices and can contain information from past generations. IN homeopathy they call this miasmata. The perturbation of the information in the cells.

How can I enjoy each day without being fearful of the future?

When we have fears towards the future it really means we have doubts about our capacity to take care of ourselves. We look at the current situations and translate our challenges into possible failure. This creates anticipation-angst. We are getting stressed out by things that have not happened yet. This is a habitual pattern which means that you have formed synapses in your brain that keep you in this thinking mode. You are like a train that is stuck on the rails and cannot turn to another path. So the way to change is to train your mind. There are several ways to do it, but I will teach my favorite technique.

Every night before you go to sleep you take 10 minutes before going in your bed (do this in a relax chair but not in your bed) and start to evaluate your day scanning for moments that you were in this habitual pattern again. As soon as you find an incident you will pretend it is like a movie fragment that you can edit. You ask yourself: how would I react differently if I were in my power? Then you relive the scene again but now like you would if you were in your power, having positive pleasant thoughts and feelings of your future. You do this for at least 3-4 incidents every day before going to sleep. What you are doing in reality, you are building new pathways in your brain (new synapses) that will allow you to react differently in the future as soon as you have build up enough of these synapses. It is the same like learning to drive a car or swimming. When you start out you have zero synapses and as you keep on training yourself you build more synapse until you develop what is called auto-pilot.
